Verification Standards
Verified is a process, not a label.
This page is the whole standard, in public: what we check, who issues it, how often we re-check it, and exactly what gets a provider suspended or removed. If we ever fall short of what's written here, this page is the receipt.
Licenses · Insurance · Reviews
1 · State licenses — checked with the issuer
Every credential is verified against the authority that issued it — never from a copy the provider hands us alone.
- Florida Dept. of Health (MQA): physicians (MD), osteopathic physicians (DO), physician assistants, and advanced practice registered nurses — license number, Current/Active status, and public discipline history, for the medical director and for every clinician a practice lists with us.
- Health Care Clinic licensure (AHCA): confirmed wherever a practice's services and structure require a clinic license under Florida law.
- DBPR Division of Professions: estheticians (facial specialists), cosmetologists, electrologists, and salon/spa establishment licenses.
- Tattoo licensure (Dept. of Health, Ch. 381): tattoo artist license and biomedical-waste establishment permit for permanent makeup, scalp micropigmentation, and paramedical tattoo.
- Dentistry (Ch. 466): dentist licenses for cosmetic dental. Plus Sunbiz active registration and a real, fixed premises for every provider.
2 · The medical-director rule
Every medical spa and medical practice must name its medical director — a real person, on the profile, whose Florida license we verify as Current/Active and discipline-free. There is no anonymous medical oversight on this platform. If a medical director departs, the provider must tell us the same day; the listing is suspended until a verified replacement is in place. The same rule covers the supervision structure for every service in the practice's listing.
3 · The scope-of-practice rule
A provider is listed only for services inside its verified credentials. Florida law draws these lines clearly: an esthetician's license covers a defined, non-medical scope; injections, medical laser procedures, and diagnosis sit outside it. A practice with both studio and medical services carries two listings, each verified on its own credentials — a med spa's badge never silently covers its estheticians, and an esthetician's license never carries an injectables listing. Scope is decided by our verification team from the credential record — providers cannot buy, self-declare, or out-argue their way into a category.
4 · Insurance — certificates verified, expiry enforced
General liability for every provider; professional liability (malpractice) for medical practices and clinicians. Certificates are confirmed with the issuing agent or broker — limits, named insured, covered premises, and covered services all matching the listing. Expiry is tracked with alerts at 45, 30, 14, and 7 days. At expiry with no renewal verified, the listing suspends automatically. No grace period, no exceptions for high performers.
5 · Reviews — audited before, monitored after
Before listing, we audit a provider's public review record (Google, Yelp, RealSelf where relevant, BBB): rating and volume against published minimums, recency and velocity, and manipulation signals — bursts, duplicates, incentivized patterns, cross-platform contradictions. After listing, reviews are re-audited quarterly and off-cycle when patterns trip. Separately, platform reviews can only be left by clients whose consultation was booked and completed through us — and they cover the experience, because no review on this platform is a medical outcome claim.
6 · Re-verification — daily, not annual
Listing-day verification is the floor, not the product. License statuses are re-checked on a rolling daily cycle against state records; insurance status is re-checked monthly; the full file is re-audited on a fixed annual schedule. If a check cannot be completed, it is logged as not checked and a human follows up — a failed check never silently passes.
What suspends a listing — same day
- Any listed license lapses, is suspended, restricted, or disciplined by the state
- The medical director departs, or their license status changes, with no verified replacement
- Insurance lapses or is cancelled before a verified renewal is on file
- A state complaint, investigation, or enforcement action becomes public record
- The practice advertises or performs services outside its verified scope
Suspension means: removed from search, from category pages, and from consultation routing — and clients with upcoming consultations booked through us are notified by us directly. Reinstatement requires the credential fully restored and re-verified.
What revokes the badge — permanently
- Practicing outside licensure, or allowing unlicensed practice under the badge
- Falsified credentials, insurance documents, or application information
- License revocation by the state, or surrender during a discipline proceeding
- Review manipulation: fake, purchased, or incentivized reviews
- Refusing a re-verification, a document request, or a client-notification duty
Revoked means removed entirely, with a final verified-status note on the record. The same rules apply to founding providers — there is no grandfathering, for anyone.
What we never claim
Verification confirms credentials, insurance, and review history. It is not a medical endorsement, a quality-of-care rating, or a promise about any treatment. This site makes no medical claims, publishes no outcome promises, and shows no before/after guarantees — and providers listed here agree to the same discipline on their profiles. Whether a service is right for you is a conversation between you and a licensed professional, at your consultation.
